Tune-ups are essential to maintaining a vehicles performance. Maintaining a regular tune-up schedule will help your vehicle last longer, as well as get better gas mileage. Most vehicles require regularly scheduled tune-ups around every 30,000 miles, with more aggressive tune-ups every 90,000 miles. Your vehicle's owners manuel will provide you with the necessary intervals at which your vehicle should be tuned-up. A thorough tune-up performed by a technician at Mr. Inspection includes:

  • Replacing the air filter
  • Replacing the fuel filter
  • Replacing ignition wires 
  • Installing new spark plugs
  • Replacing the distributor cap (if equipped)
  • Installing a new ignition rotor (if equipped)
  • Checking and topping off all fluids
  • Checking the battery and cleaning the terminals
  • Replacing the positive crankcase ventilation valve
  • Performing a fuel induction treatment if carbon buildup is found in the upper engine plentum
